I'm thrilled to announce:

Simon&Schuster UK has bought the UK rights to The Lost Swimmer and Out of the Ice in a two-book deal;

and Film rights to The Lost Swimmer have been optioned by producer Sue Maslin from the production company Film Art Media. Read the press release in Books+Publishing here! www.booksellerandpublisher.com.au/item/33639

and I'll be speaking on a panel at the Melbourne Writers Festival on August 23rd – After Gone Girl – with author Honey Brown and chair Angela Savage, where we'll be discussing Gone Girl and our own books.

Sometimes the world spins in auspicious ways. It's so exciting that The Lost Swimmer will be published in the land of my heritage in June 2016 in time for summer! And I'll be heading back into the water myself to write the screenplay adaptation of The Lost Swimmer. It's a real coup to have Sue Maslin come on board as producer, as she's so talented and experienced. Sue's films include Japanese Story and the adaptation of Rosalie Ham's novel The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth and Judy Davis, that will be released in Australia in October and the UK in November.

I'm so grateful to all of you who have read The Lost Swimmer and helped it on its journey to this point. And of course without Simon&Schuster (Australia) the manuscript would still be sitting on my computer! A big thanks to Roberta Ivers, Larissa Edwards and the S&S team who work so hard to get The Lost Swimmer out into the world.
